Inkpot Lane is a small publisher's website. We don't sell anything here, we don't run ads, and there are no accounts, forms or newsletters to sign up for. This page explains the one thing the site does collect.

Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4, a service from Google, to understand how the site is used: how many people visit, which pages and articles they read, which country and type of device they visit from, how they found the site (for example from Google Search or Pinterest), and whether they click through to a book on Amazon. It helps us decide what to write next and which pages need work.

Google Analytics uses cookies and similar technology to do this. It gives us counts and trends, not your name, your email or your exact location, and Google Analytics 4 does not store IP addresses. How Google uses the information is set out in Google's own explanation.

How to switch it off

• Install Google's Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
• Block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site works exactly the same without them.

Every "Buy on Amazon" button is a plain link to the book's page on Amazon. We don't use affiliate codes or tracking links. Once you are on Amazon, Amazon's own privacy notice applies.

If the site starts collecting anything else, this page will say so first.
